4.5 million euros for the project “Second Chance” in Serbia

ETF 1Belgrade, September 2009. Multi-year project REF “Functional Basic Education for Roma” which is 2005-2008. implemented by the Institute for Pedagogy and Andragogy, Faculty of Philosophy in Belgrade in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Sports and Adult Education Society has given excellent results, which were recognized by both, local and national stakeholders, as well as the international community. As proof of the quality, applicability and sustainability of the developed concept of functional basic education and proposed the project and tested measures for its implementation, the European Commission has decided that with 4.5 million (with 3 million co-financing from the Ministry of Education) funded a new project “Second chance – IPA 2007” within the framework of IPA funds (funds for pre-accession aid), which was created after the model of the “Functional basic education for Roma”. These days, the European Training Foundation (ETF) in cooperation with the EC Delegation in Serbia, the Ministry of Education and other relevant partners are defining the TOR for this important project.
