Conference: „Lifelong Learning in the Balkans: A Historical Context and Current Trends“

Belgrade, July 2005. Between July 01st – 03rd 2005. the Institute for Pedagogy and Andragogy (Philosophical Faculty of the University of Belgrade), Balkan Society for Pedagogy and Education (Thessaloniki, Greece), Adult Education Society (Belgrade) and the Serbian Society for Pedagogy organized the international conference „Lifelong Learning in the Balkans: A Historical Context and Current Trends“, in Belgrade. The conference was under the patronage of the Ministry of Education and Sports of the Republic of Serbia and financial supported by the Ministry of Science and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Serbia, Serbian Fond for Open Society, the IIZ/DVV, the City Assembly of Belgrade (Department for Education) and JKP “Zelenilo-Beograd”. The conference gathered 133 participants from: Greece, Turkey, Albania, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Romania, Serbia and Montenegro. During the conference several plenary and keynote lectures were hold, work shops were organized and information material provided (mainly from the National Institute for Adult and Continuing Education (Leicester, Great Britain). The next conference will be held in Bucharest in 2006.
