Regional training in Tirana – CONFINTEA VI

On the occasion of the forthcoming UNESCO World Conference on Adult Education in Brazil, in Tirana was held regional training for experts working on writing a national report. This training was organized within the project dvv international: “Lobbying for lifelong learning in South East Europe”. Trainers were Anelia Miteva, representative of the Regional Office of dvv international in South East Europe and Ph.D. Katarina Popovic, president of the Association for Adult Education and co-trainer prof. Snezana Medic, the Faculty of Philosophy, Department of Adult Education. The training was attended by participants from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Montenegro, Kosovo, Macedonia, Romania and Serbia, mainly professionals working on writing a national report for CONFINTEA VI in order to more clearly present the state in adult education, and because of the importance of the upcoming conference, intensified work on the preparation of national reports. Given the complexity of this process, and the fact that many factors influence it, in addition to presenting CONFINTEA history and its importance to the concept of lifelong learning, the training focused on the UNESCO guidelines for writing reports, focusing on: the type of relevant data and information and resources for specific topics, interpretation and presentation (the scope and quality of the report), the method of writing and so on. In addition, there were discussions about the preparation process and the role of national reports, the selection of partners for the work on the report, the structure of the working groups, time factor, aggravating circumstances and problems on the one hand and the advantages and positive factors on the other. On the training, participants discussed about joint participation of Southeast European countries in the preparatory conference in Budapest.
