IMG_4674Sofia, June 2006. The Pan-European Forum for Education for the Elderly, PEFETE, organized in Sofia, Bulgaria (June, 7th – 9th, 2006) a Public Workshop about the development of Train-the-Trainer (TTT) seminars in later life learning. The participants, PEFETE partners from different European countries and adult educators from Bulgaria, engaged themselves in discussion about content, methodology and organization of specific train-the-trainer seminars for learning in later life. The discussion, which was enriched by intercultural exchange, focused on new trends of development: thinking about future learning needs had to take in account the changed social context, new participatory activities and the inclusion of elderly into the society via learning. As an outcome of the event can be mentioned the development and improvement of social infrastructure, the establishment of a national TTT-programme for learning in later life, as well as propositions in relation to a common initiative for a European TTT-programme through Grundtvig 1. The Adult Education Society was represented by Tamara Nikolić Maksic
