Activities initiated by “Golden age of life” Project

Belgrade, Leskovac, Bor, March, 2013. Associates of Adult Education Society and partners of ELiS project from Leskovac and Bor shown that project had significant impact on them. They have revived contact with institutions which provide care services for elderly and deliver different types of educational and social programs for participants from nursing homes and pensioners’ clubs. Young Researchers from Bor successfully accredited one of the project activity. This activity implies that elderly have a role of career counselors for the high school students. Two time per months, our colleagues from Faculty of Philosophy, Department of Andragogy delivered specifically designed educational programs to elderly at nursing home in Karaburma (Belgrade) on voluntary bases. Choir of elderly Neven from Leskovac in the September was self-organized their concert and realized it to their peers at the Gerontology center of Belgrade. After the concert they organized other social activities. This is only a few of many examples, which show that ELiS project is still “alive”. We hope that mentioned activities above will be inspiration for decision makers, NGOs, existing providers of social services and other volunteers and citizens, because actions speak louder than words.
