ustarenjeThis study considers the relation between learning and agening. This is an area that has attracted considerable scientific interest in the past several decades. The problem is approached in an interdisciplinary manner and within the framework of the philosophy of lifelong learning. Besides an introduction, the book includes ten parts. Part one is devoted to old age as a civilizational problem, part two considers the social and scientific foundations of agening, part three refers to demographic changes and aging, part four considers comparative perspectives of education for the elderly, part five discusses directions of development and learning by the elderly, part six refers to the elderly person as a student, part seven is devoted to the educational needs and interests of the elderly, part eight discusses the choice of content and organization of learning by the elderly, part nine is devoted to trends in the establishment of an discipline/subdiscipline of learning by the elderly and part ten contains concluding considerations.
