Exhibition of patchwork works from course participants from the U3A „Braća Stamenković“

Belgrade, September 2005. Senior citizens are still a strongly disadvantaged population group in Serbia, in social as in economic and political terms. Therefore the Adult Education Society cooperates with the Association for Senior Education to improve the education offers for seniors. This autumn several activities are planed, e.g. computer courses, language courses and painting courses for seniors. The exhibition of patchwork works from course participants from the University of the Third Age „Braća Stamenković” represented the start of the activities. The exhibition was shown from September 01st – 10th 2005. at the Ethnographic Museum in Belgrade. A total of 85 works, produced by 16 participants of the patchwork course at the University of the Third Age „Braća Stamenković“, were shown. The media, newspapers as well as television stations, reported extensive about the exhibition. The exhibition was also well visited, 200 persons were at the opening of the exhibition, and more than 800 persons visited the exhibition.
