Start of “Second Chance” project in Serbia

GOPA_SECOND_CHANCEBelgrade, October 2010 – 2012. “Kick off” meeting of the “Second Chance” project in Serbia took place in the office of Adult Education Society with the president of AES Katarina Popovic, project team leader Anita Jakobsone and the representatives of GOPA: Martin Jeglitza, Heike Happerschoss and Naomi Perera. dvv international is together in the consortium with GOPA and the European Association for the Education of Adults (EAEA), whose project proposal was adopted in the tender. Some of the main objectives of the project “Second Chance” are: systemic development of elementary, practice based adult education in Serbia; establishing a system of functional elementary adult education in Serbia, which is accessible and adaptable to the needs of adult learners, focused on life skills and competencies and based upon lifelong learning. The project will be implemented in the period 2010-2012 and will include 80 schools in Serbia. The total project value is 7.5 million EUR – 4.5 million are from the European Union, and 3 million are the national co-financing funds.
