Completion of the “Golden age” in Leskovac

The Assembly of the City of Leskovac on Saturday, June 16, held a round table on the problems and needs of the people of the third age and their active involvement in society. The meeting was attended by representatives of local authorities, institutions dealing with this issue and the NGO sector. The round table was held within the framework of the “Golden age”, which is under the auspices of the EU and the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, conducted in five towns in Serbia, in order to change the image of the elderly and aging. Meetings set, a distribution of leaflets and books of good practices, marked the completion of this project in Leskovac and the first step towards an action plan that will offer specific solutions for this category of citizens. Deputy Mayor, Miodrag Miladinovic, stressed the importance of establishing an integrated system of social and health care in order to solve the problems of the elderly, the sick, the vulnerable and marginalized groups. Local partners of the project, summed up the results of the workshops and presented the idea of ​​inter-generational dialogue and cooperation. All local media coverage of this event, which represents a very significant support to the media campaign.
