Pančevo, May 2013. The project “Second Chance” – Systemic Development of Elementary, Practice Based Adult Education in Serbia has been successfully implemented for the third year in succession. The second generation of enrolled adults in functional basic adult education finished school year on May 2013. Adult students were awarded certificates by the Head of the EU Delegation, H. E. Vincent Degert in the Elementary School “Đura Jakšić” at Pančevo. Overall 4,750 adults awarded certificates in 70 schools across Serbia which have been implementing “Second Chance” project. Generally, this project is funded by EU and should be finished till the end of September 2013. One of the outcomes of the project is adoption of standards for functional elementary education of adults. Furthermore, the Institute for the Education Quality and Evaluation has evaluated the project implementation that shown positive results in all aspects.
