EAEA Younger Staff Training

The fourth EAEA Grundtvig In-Service Training “European Adult Education and Lifelong Learning – Introduction for younger staff” was held in the Brussels from 25th till 29th of November 2013. The training was attended by 17 participants from 9 countries and 15 different organizations. The objectives of the programme were gaining knowledge and experience about mechanisms in legislation of the EU, which is one of basic skills needed for lobbying and advocacy, exchanging information and knowledge about adult education in different environments and learning about EAEA, EUCIS LLL and other key civil society organisations. The Programme consisted of three different parts: working session in the group, presentation of the organizations and meeting in the EU institutions. Beside this activities participants had opportunity to participate in the European Development Days and explore Parlamentarium. Participation in the European Development Days was unique opportunity for widening professional networks. Discussion with different policy makers and representative of the Parliament gave to participants actual wide image about trends in adult education development in the EU. Working sessions in the group between participants fostered ideas for possible projects and strength relationship for future cooperation. Adult Education Society with support of dvv international organized and facilitated participation on the training for five younger experts from different SEE countries. This training had significant importance for participants from SEE. Cooperation and meetings between adult educators from SEE and EU countries is really important for image of our region as strong partners in developing adult education in Europe.
